CREATING CANADIAN HISTORY TRADING CARDS

Collecting sports cards is a popular hobby. On the front of the card is a picture of the person. On the back is a brief biography.

The biography is a profile that outlines the highlights of the person’s life & achievements.

Key Steps:

  1. Choose an important person in Canadian History.
  2. Decide on the key questions you want to answer about this person’s life. Work with an outline.
  3. Locate information. Look at biographies, reports, books, websites, etc…

Try to get a picture of the person or create an illustration of them.

  1. Make a point form summary of your information following the outline.
  2. Start with an interesting topic sentence. Use your outline as you write the details.

Make sure your paragraphs have unity & coherence. End with a concluding sentences that sums up the paragraph. 1 Paragraph = Minimum 5 Sentences!

  1. Finally create your Trading Card.  Use cardboard to create a sturdy card.  Make

your card whatever size / shape you want. Be sure to use both sides.  Be creative!
