The Bold Canadian - Students' Stanzas

The Yankees did invade us,
To kill and to destroy,
And to distress our country,
Our peace for to annoy,
Our countrymen were filled
With sorrow, grief and woe,
To think that they should fall
By such an unnatural foe.

Come all ye bold Candians,
Come sing and fight with pride,
To defend our children,
And to defend your bride,
Hurrah to all Canadians
Who step into the blaze,
Who stomp, shout and scream aloud
And sing through all the haze.

We wrestled and fought those Yankee boys,
Our spirits running high,
We truly lost some strong, brave men,
To those Yankees who's souls fly.
We won the battle, we sure did,
They lost it all to us.
We're coming home next suntime glow,
So don't go make a fuss.

Proudly, we fought to death,
Took on the American boys.
A challenge taken to the grave,
Through the rumbling noise.
So we stand, tall and proud
For the war that we have won,
Though many of us are long gone,
We are still number one.

Come all ye bold Canadians,
Let us all celebrate.
As this win is our first,
It's one to recreate!
So come enjoy this hearty feast.
Let us all have some good fun.
Enjoy the time, while it lasts
For no one needs a gun.

Come all ye proud Canadians,
Help us win this war,
Fight against the Americans,
Protect honour and much more.
Victories won on all fronts,
Such as at Queenston Heights,
Boy we gave them a good chase,
With the British we did unite!

Come all ye bold Canadians,
Bearing our Coat of Arms,
Our glorious red shirts,
Which they can do no harm.
We are bound to win this fight.
Though many bombs may soar.
We will fight for victory!
Or die in this great war.

Come all ye bold Canadians,
To save all our rules,
We spent our time enforcing them,
Don't give them to the fools.
Our king has fought with all his might,
To keep it as it is.
Let's bow to him with much respect,
For our lives shall be his.

Come all ye bold Canadians,
A lonely trip it has been,
Across thy Lundy's Lane,
Many bodies I have seen.
Thee cannons make a "BOOM"!.
Thee muskets make a "CRACK"!
I hope to come home soon,
Those Yanks can't hold me back.

Come all ye bold Canadians,
Come lend a helping hand.
Defend your country bold and proud.
We'll offer you some land.
The fire turns to ash,
As we fight with spirit and pride.
Say it low, say it HIGH,
For victory we vied.

Come gather war veterans,
Who did their mighty part.
We beat those Yankee boys,
And tore their hopes apart.
Of course they fought with honour,
But they were no match for us.
As we kicked them out,
And didn't cause a fuss.

Come home ye bold Canadians,
For on the field of battle we stood.
Outside of a death-filled Detroit.
Where the soil's soaked with blood.
You fought for King and Country,
And now you're coming home.
'Cause the events of 1812,
Are recorded in this tome.

Their purpose of invading,
Was to kill and destroy.
To take our wives and children
And cause much annoy.
Our countrymen were filled,
With agony, despair and woe
To know that they would die
By the outlandish foe.

Come all ye bold Canadians,
Defending the city below.
The enemy troops come in,
And Tecumseh pulls out his bow.
We are all at the garrison,
As we grab our muskets and go.
Fighting the Americans with all our might,
With supplies dangerously low.

Come all ye proud Canadians,
We gave it all our might,
Went out and joined the battle,
Risked our lives for the fight.
The memories, they are scattered,
But for always be with me,
The muskets that were fired,
Those times I could not flee.

The Yankees fought to gain some land,
By the hundreds they surely came.
Our British forces strong and true,
Made those Yank troops seem so lame.
In Detroit our brave militia,
Which was led by Isaac Brock
Did defend the Canadas
Our victory... - Their shock.

Should have turned back when they could.
We fought with all our might.
Sir Isaac Brock was our leader.
We conquered. It was quite a sight.
Smoke of the battle filled our lungs.
Fools to think they had a chance.
Many died but in Detroit,
We crushed'em without a second glance.

We stand with pride and glee
As we watched the Yankee boys descend,
We celebrate and cheer
Ye know we're overjoyed. - T'is the end!
We can put down muskets and unload cannons.
It's over, it's done. Time for all to sing!
Glorify God who saves us all.
No more fighting. - Let's keep our vow.

The enemy force we fought at Chrysler’s farm,
Were a bunch that we would not have allowed.
For now we all are free to live and safe from harm,
And a Canadian victory of which we all are proud.
General Mulcaster led us into battle with 900 men;
We succeeded against the Yankee’s once again.
Our troops so bravely attacked at John Chrysler’s den.
And we ended the battle while saying amen.
Stand tall my dearest friends,
Do not let your steps falter now,
For the battle has been won,
We were as brave as one can allow,
Although our friends have fallen,
Their deaths were not in vain,
They fought off those horrid Yanks,
And now we can cease our strain.
Come all ye bold Canadians,
Fighting till death,
Combating all night.
Battling till our last breath,
Standing here to see so many die,
Praying everyday, this will not be our last,
Hoping the Yanks will stop,
But there goes another blast.
Thee grand soldiers dressed in red wool,
Wielding the Brown Bess,
Lundy's Lane: One thousand dead.
Battlefield: An utter mess.
Sacrifices must be made,
But great men won in the end,
We shot them down onto the field,
The British Empire did transcend.
