Mr. F's Biographical Alphabet Poem
Dave Fitch Metcalfe Public School Teacher Arrived in ’71, fresh on the scene, Born in Hamilton and was quite keen. Child of Lorne and Mary, so proud, Driving motorcycles. Boy he was loud! Even in grade school Dave knew what to be, For he’d always praise the dictionary. Going through college at Ottawa U, He’d soon graduate and to Asia he flew. In the Land of the Rising Sun, career did start, Japan was the place that had grabbed his heart. Kawakami was her name, but now it is Fitch, Love was found, with nearly a hitch. Married in Vegas, just off the strip, Natsuko is his wife and she’s smart as a whip. Off to school, day in and day out, Pupils’ successes he’d tirelessly tout. Quick on the uptake, slow on the draw, Rarely Dave’s energy would seem to withdraw. Students and students and students and students, Tching and teeching and teachingu and teaching! Up in front of class now for eight years, Very lucky to work with such peers. Working with kids most of his time, X-celling in chess, computers and rhyme? You’ve been so kind to read this tome, Zany enough to write this darn poem. |
