Paper Mache Piggy Banks:
Students upcycle Pringles cans & newspaper to make piggy banks! This creative process takes a product that's
already had another life & adds value to it to give it a new life.
Student Examples
- Use newspaper, a Pringles Chips can, glue / water & cardboard.
- Cut a coin slot for the piggy bank.
- Decide on a shape first. Make two sketches for approval. (2 views)
- The Piggy Bank must function.
- The lid must come off to remove coin. The coin slot can not be through the plastic lid or metal bottom.
- Create a shape differing from the basic tube structure (REMEMBER: It's a sculpture, eh.) Create texture.
- No scissors. Tear SMALL strips of newsprint to use. (organic shapes)
- Paint your creation.
